Stolen Purse...

you heard the saga of the stolen purse so I only thought it prudent to put a pic of the new purse, however, I never got the picture up... its not such a new purse anymore...

But the craziest thing happened this week... its actually Oct 8th, 2009 today.... so I was on facebook doing nothing as usual and I thought OH maybe I should look at some of my emails on here, I havent done that in a few weeks... Im not a very good facebooker... But low and behold there was a email with the word PURSE in the subject line... Here is what it said...

Valerie Hurd Dykhuizen September 18 at 3:38pm I found red Prada purse with your items (check book etc) in a field by my work. I found a number for you on whitepages.com that is not valid. So I took a chance and tried facebook. If you have had a purse lost or stolen please message me back. I did gather it up and have it at my work. Thank you.

OH my gosh, its been almost a month since she wrote that! And its been about 9 months since the purse was stolen and was sitting in that field over there! It was all dirty and had tons of cobwebs etc. That was sooo nice of her to gather up for me... Anyway I got my red prada purse back, but there was very little in it that I wanted back, but there is something about closure... even to a stolen purse saga! I'm very grateful!

My purse was stolen! Bugger!

So I was parked at South Towne Expo and was only in there for 45 mins. and I came out to an extreme scene! I push the code to get in my car on the side of my door, "du tu du" not noticing that there is glass all over the front seat on the passenger side. They left my super sweet, cutting edge iPod Mini(2004generation), my computer was in the very back, and nothing else was taken- Just my purse! I think they liked the PRADA symbol- too bad they didnt know I found that purse in my Aunts toy room and said "this is cute I am taking it!" And too bad for them it was a total knock off from the streets of NYC! (I havent yet given Char's little girls one of my old purses to replace their "playing House/Store" prop.~working on it!)

The reason for sharing all this drama isnt for your sympathy, although appreciated, its to let you know why I havent posted for a while even though there has been sooo much to share! The saddest part of the whole purse snatcher story is that my camera was in my purse! (So not so much to post without PICs! right Val?) There was also my WICKED Tix for me and my gramma K! A whole lot of TEA! 2 wallets- and TONS of GLOSS! Luckily I had my most handy little credit card holder in my pocket! (thank you Robyn!)with my drivers license and my 2 most important credit cards! and MOST IMPORTANTLY I HAD MY PHONE! Heaven knows that is the worst possible senario- to lose the phone! I am officially against phone snatching or losing!
I wish I could say that the snatcher was really in need and was probably just incredibly desperate but based on the fact that he/she went to some interesting places with one of my credit cards told me the identity was most likely male, aged 15-24, NOT desperate but on a joy ride and knew what they were doing. They spent X amount at TARGET 3 times! X amount at PLAY N TRADE! (similar to Game Stop-video game store) and X amount at FOOTLOCKER! They got a sweet pair of sneakers! NEVER in my life have I spent that much on a pair of shoes! In fact, I could get 7 or 8 pairs of shoes from the Max or the Ross Dress for Less for the amount he got those super sweet sneakers!! Holy Smokes those sneakers must make them fly JUST like Micheal Jordan!
I so would have taken pics of the scene but Oh yeah, my camera was in my purse! This thought process happens to me all the time! From stamps to insurance cards to my favorite gloss or eye drops! It feels like its just a step away in my purse... but the other purse- the one thats gone! :(
